Shawn Michaels wants The New Day on NXT until February of next year.
This Tuesday, The New Day made a surprise appearance on NXT and challenged Pretty Deadly to a match on Deadline for the NXT Tag Team Championship. Once up to date, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods got it and became the new champions. What will happen to them because they are still part of SmackDown?
During the media call after NXT Deadline, Shawn Michaels commented that he would like to have The New Day until NXT Vengeance Day, which will take place on February 4. However, he affirms that it is open and will try to achieve it.
We had a call the other day, and I wasn’t sure what we were going to do. I am always candid with you. I’ll send a couple of messages and see what we can do.
Again, this still needs to be finalized, but I fully intend to because, to my understanding, The New Day is still a part of SmackDown, so our titles need to be represented. That crossover we’ve had in recent months is going to continue. I’m going to say this; sometimes I think we lose track of the fact that I guess I’m always conservative, and I never want to upset anyone, and I don’t push more than I should, but once in a while, all I have to do is ask a question and if Hunter says, “Yeah, sure. So, we must talk to the talents and see if it works for everyone.
I’m thinking about Vengeance Day, but that’s not locked down, but I have to think about selling those tickets in Charlotte and figure out what we can do to better contribute to that. Right now, I can’t say that I know New Day is going to be a part of that, but I can promise you that I’m going to do everything I can to make sure that they are because that’s something that’s going to be beneficial to making that PLE in charlotte something special.
We must wait to see what ends up happening in the coming weeks. Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods have yet to be officially announced for any of the NXT or SmackDown weekly shows, but it is a matter of hours to find out what will happen in the short term.
