An NXT superstar confessed his desire to face Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania through a podcast.
Since his return to WWE, “The American Nightmare” has become an excellent star. Proof of this was the great commotion he caused after said return to the company from which he was absent for six years. Cody is currently missing from the schedule due to injury, but his recovery times are getting shorter, and his return is almost imminent.
Recently, an NXT superstar, Grayson Waller, was present on the WWE After The Bell podcast. In the said podcast, Waller was asked who he would like to face in the grand event, WrestleMania. The NXT superstar did not hesitate and named “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes.
There’s an answer that I’m not going to say because I’ve been calling this guy for twelve months, and he hasn’t said anything back, so I’m going to give it up.
Corey (Graves), I’m going to put this on you. I’ve always heard stories about Dusty Rhodes on NXT. Everyone has told stories about how amazing he was, I never got to work with him because I was too late, but I was always like, ‘Man, I wish I got to work with Dusty.’ Everyone tells incredible stories. The PC [WWE Performance Center] is Dusty’s home. I came in, broke down the door, and moved in; this is my house now, and I live rent-free in this house and run NXT.
I sincerely believe and want to see if Cody has anything to say about it. I want to see what he has to say about it. He is the measuring stick right now when it comes to superstars. I’ve met Cody before, and when he walks into a room, it’s a different feeling; it’s like, ‘Wow, that’s the guy.’
If I go to the main event at WrestleMania, I want to be in front of him. I want to be up against Cody Rhodes, and I want to see what he feels like, and I want to test myself. I want to challenge the best, and Cody is the best.
H/T to Fightful.
Everything indicates that this fight will have to wait for several years since Grayson Waller currently won the first men’s Iron Survivor Challenge and is ready to challenge Bron Breakker for the NXT Championship at New Year’s Evil on January 10. On the part of Cody Rhodes, everything indicates that the latter will return to the company during Royal Rumble 2023, scheduled for January 28.
