UFC 282 headliner Jan Blachowicz is set to recapture the UFC Middle Heavyweight title. He will face the dangerous Magomed Ankalaev on December 10 for the vacant title.
The fight will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Blachowicz and Ankalaev will battle for gold after champion Jiri Prochazka relinquished the belt after suffering an injury. Prochazka was going to defend the belt in his rematch against Glover Teixeira.
Blachowicz, who was on the plane to Las Vegas when the news broke, prepared for a bout that was upgraded to five rounds at the last minute.
Blachowicz won the UFC Middle Heavyweight title against Dominick Reyes in 2020 . After losing the belt to Teixeira in 2021, his last fight was a TKO victory in May over Aleksandar Rakic.
Anakalev made his professional debut in 2014. Since losing his UFC debut in 2018 against Paul Craig, Ankalaev has won nine straight. His last fight was a TKO victory against Anthony Smith in July.
