Claudio Castagnoli defeated Chris Jericho to win the title.
After Chris Jericho took the Ring Of Honor World Championship from Claudio Castagnoli in AEW Dynamite Grand Slam, the Swiss tried to recover the title in Full Gear. After failing to do so, he proposed to ‘The Eight’ that if he could not beat him, he would have. He had to join The Jericho Appreciation Society, for which he got a new starting chance. This match took place in ROH Final Battle and had Claudio Castagnoli as the winner, and therefore still champion.
The action began with Chris Jericho evading Claudio Castagnoli to attack the commentators at ringside. At that moment, those at the comment table fled, and an Uppercut intercepted Jericho. At one point, both fighters exchanged Chops and Uppercuts in the middle of the ring, with the top-ranked Swiss coming out. This led to members of The Jericho Appreciation Society handing their leader a bat. The champion hit his challenger with this object, but the count did not reach three seconds.
In a new attempt to succeed, Chris Jericho tried to apply the Judas Effect. Still, Claudio Castagnoli reversed it into a Swing, with which, after several laps, the champion ended up giving up. When the match ended, Wheeler Yuta celebrated with his partner from the Blackpool Combat Club.
With this victory, Claudio Castagnoli wins the Ring Of Honor World Championship for the second time and, therefore will not have to be part of The Jericho Appreciation Society. On the other hand, Chris Jericho’s reign ends with only six successful defenses in 80 days.
