This Wednesday, December 14, AEW celebrates a new special Dynamite Winter is Coming show in which MJF will put the AEW World Championship and the Dynamite Diamond Ring on the line against Ricky Starks. The show begins with the fourth match between The Elite and Death Triangle in their best-of-seven series.
- Death Triangle goes 3-1 in the series after defeating The Elite by submission. After the match, Kenny Omega talks about the deck that Death Triangle always uses and proposes that the next fight is without disqualification.
MJF is interviewed backstage and “congratulates” Ricky Starks for his achievements and potential, but remember that he is the biggest star that AEW has at only 26 years old. MJF makes fun of Starks and everything he said last week and admits that his life has been effortless because he was born rich, handsome, funny, and better than everyone. MJF tries to put pressure on Starks by telling him that everyone is with him and he could disappoint everyone tonight.
The Acclaimed enter but are attacked by Jeff Jarrett, Satnam Singh, Jay Lethal, and Sonjay Dutt. They get Caster and Bowens into the ring, grab the championships and lift them.
Jericho Appreciation Society is interviewed backstage. Chris Jericho affirms that he will vent his frustrations with any ‘jobber’ tonight. Jericho takes the opportunity to tell Daniel Garcia that he should not have lost the ROH Pure Championship to Yuta, but nothing happens; now, he should be accompanying Sammy Guevara in Rampage.
“Jungle Boy” Jack Perry steps into the ring to face Brian Cage.
- “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry gets the victory over Cage with a Roll Up. After the match, Perry says he beat Luchasaurus in Full Gear and wants Christian Cage. Stokely Hathaway claims that Jack Perry’s face bothers him a lot. Suddenly, Lee Moriarty and Big Bill come out and attack Perry. Hook interrupts, goes up to the ring, and makes Hathaway, Bill and Moriarty flee. Hook shakes Jack Perry’s hand to get him up, and they stare at the members of The Firm.
Jon Moxley gives a backstage promo reviewing what Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta achieved in ROH Final Battle and what he did to Konosuke Takeshita. Moxley, Castagnoli, and Yuta affirm that 2023 will be an excellent year for the Blackpool Combat Club.
In a promo, Swerve Strickland talks about what happened between him and Keith Lee at ROH Final Battle and wants them to meet next week to talk.
House of Black enters the ring to face The Factory (Cole Karter, QT Marshall, and Lee Johnson).
- Malakai Black quickly destroys QT Marshall and gives his team victory.
Britt Baker is interviewed backstage by Renee Paquette and talks about the match between Jamie Hayter and Hikaru Shida next week. Skye Blue interrupts and challenges Baker to a fight at Rampage.
Chris Jericho fights next against Action Andretti.
- Action Andretti surprises by beating Jericho after applying his shot.
In a promo, FTR talked about their trilogy with The Briscoes, but now it’s time to go for Austin and Colten Gunn. Dax Harwood claims that if they wanted your attention, they’ve got it.
Tay Melo steps into the ring to face Ruby Soho.
- Ruby Soho beats Melo by a count of three. After the match, Anna Jay attacks Soho from behind.
‘Hangman’ Page is in the medical room, and Alex Marvez asks for an update to know when he will return to the ring. Page says it doesn’t look like he will be doing it anytime soon and recounts what the seconds were like after he woke up from his concussion two months ago. Page claims that he had many messages and missed calls and did not remember anything that happened. He didn’t know his son’s name when he saw the picture of him on the phone. Adam Page says that if Jon Moxley is challenging him to show up at Rampage and wants to fight, he’ll be there and take him to hell with him.
The stellar event of the night arrives. MJF and Ricky Starks face off in a ‘Winner Take All’ for the AEW World Championship and the Dynamite Diamond Ring.
- MJF retains the AEW World Championship and the Dynamite Diamond Ring with a low blow followed by a Roll Up. After the fight, Bryan Danieñson appears and runs after Max, but he manages to flee through the public. The show ends with Danielson raising Ricky Starks’ arm.
